PH Credit is a leading independent specialist credit insurance broker in the UK. With over 30 years of experience, we provide expert guidance on trade credit insurance, bad debt protection and export credit insurance to a diverse range of business sectors.

Paul Humphreys

With a career in credit insurance spanning over 35 years, Paul Humphreys brings extensive industry expertise to his clients. He entered the sector in 1988 with Trade Indemnity (now Allianz Trade), gaining high-quality experience as an account manager. 

Following a tenure with an international brokerage, Paul co-founded Claverly Hyde Financial Risks Limited in Stoke-on-Trent, later assuming full ownership in 1998. Today, Paul personally oversees client and underwriter relationships, leveraging his deep market knowledge and long-standing industry connections to deliver competitive credit insurance solutions.

In his spare time, Paul is a keen golfer and cricket fan who also enjoys taking the dog for a walk and going to his local pub. Having run in the 2009 and 2010 London Marathons in aid of CLIC Sargent and the MS Society, Paul swore to never ever do it again before he ran in 2018 in aid of Guide Dogs UK.

Sara Humphreys

Sara Humphreys plays a crucial role in the success of PH Credit. Sara transitioned into a full-time leadership position, initially leading the company’s customer relations and marketing initiatives. Currently, she oversees internal operations and administration, ensuring the seamless delivery of the firm’s specialist brokerage services. Sara is also a keen walker, occasional golfer and cricket widow.

Matt Humphreys

Matt Humphreys joined PH Credit in 2017, bringing dedicated support to the firm’s brokerage operations. Appointed as a Director and shareholder in 2023, Matt plays a pivotal role in client servicing and relationship management. He works closely with Paul to deliver tailored credit insurance strategies, with a specialist focus on claims advocacy and management. He helps to ensure that clients receive comprehensive support throughout the policy lifecycle.

Outside of work, Matt is a very keen cricketer and plays regularly for Mochdre CC in the North Wales Premier League. His cricketing highlight to date was playing at Lords for Wales against the MCC in 2022.

Mike Humphreys

Mike Humphreys provides essential support to PH Credit’s operations, focusing on the firm’s systems, IT infrastructure and daily administration. His work ensures the business functions efficiently, maintaining the high standards of service our clients expect. Outside of the office, Mike is also a keen golfer.

Our Paw-fessional Rescues

We are proud supporters of the Guide Dogs program, having fostered trainees Zebedee, Angus, Fletch, Nyle, Lara, and Dave. A special mention goes to Nyle, who may not have graduated as a guide, but successfully applied for a permanent position in our hearts and our office instead.
