Meet The Team

Paul Humphreys

Paul spent his early working life in the Royal Navy before starting a career in finance and moved into the Credit Insurance business in 1988 with Trade Indemnity, now Allianz Trade, where he worked as an account manager in the Birmingham office. After a period with an international broker he joined forces with Claverley Insurance Brokers in Stoke on Trent setting up Claverly Hyde Financial Risks Limited and following a  management buyout Paul & Sara took full control of the business in September 1998. Paul remains personally responsible for existing and new business relationships with clients and underwriters.

Paul is keen golfer and cricket fan who also enjoys taking the dog for a walk and going to the pub. Having run in the 2009 and 2010 London Marathons in aid of CLIC Sargent and the MS Society and having sworn to never ever do it again he ran in 2018 in aid of Guide Dogs UK and at the moment there are no plans to do it again in the future.

Sara Humphreys

Following the MBO Sara worked full time in the business, working mainly on customer relations and marketing, she now works mainly on administration and internal operations. Sara is a keen walker, occasional golfer and cricket widow.

Matt Humphreys

Having previously worked in the business on a part time basis, Matt joined the family firm as a full time assistant broker in October 2017 and was made a Director and shareholder in March 2023. Matt works with Paul on client servicing, with particular focus on claims.

Outside of work Matt is a very keen cricketer and plays regularly for Mochdre CC in the North Wales Premier League, his cricketing highlight to date was playing at Lords for Wales against the MCC in 2022.

Mike Humphreys

Mike Humphreys also works in the business and focuses on systems, IT and day administration. Mike is a very keen golfer and once we can persuade him to allow it a photo will follow shortly.

Newest Team Members

We are proud supporters of the Guide Dogs program, having fostered trainees Zebedee, Angus, Fletch, Nyle, Lara, and Dave. A special mention goes to Nyle, who may not have graduated as a guide, but successfully applied for a permanent position in our hearts and our office instead.
